- CONNECTIONS - Jursammic Park Train Station

Welcome to another edition of Connections where this month we visit the Jursammic Park Train Station.

Located just on the outskirts of Grimshire, the Jursammic Park Train Station stands like a pinnacle above the grassy knolls and open fields that surround it. Originally built to house the rail connection between Imperial City and Jursammic Park, the train station has been expanded, renovated and upgraded several times in its recent past.

The first major upgrade was to the interior layout. With the invention of teleporters, individual kiosks were installed within the station to allow quick access to distant locales and kingdoms. The help desk and lounge were also relocated to a separate wing to allow space for the new teleportation areas.

More renovations followed as the number of teleporter kiosks increased, the map room was added and the Nether Portal was incorporated into the design. Color coordination was also added to differentiate kiosks between the different kingdoms. For example, the red kiosk section is reserved for all international destinations, whereas the grey section is reserved for all Jursammic Park teleporter locations.

The last major upgrade happened only a few short months ago when the amount of teleporter kiosks overwhelmed the current space allocations. Recognizing this as a problem that would continue to arise, SammyMacman had his construction company, Sam Co., design and renovate the facility to include multiple floors available for more kiosks to be added in the future.

Despite the ease of the teleporter technology, it is important to note that original train connections are still active and are currently in use. Proving that sometimes the journey itself is more important then the speed it takes to get from point A to point B.

Thank you Crafty Miners for your support of the World of RAAR. We aim to continue to bring to you new lore stories and fantastic builds that hopefully will inspire you in your own creations. Hope you all are having a wonderful summer and until we meet again, Happy Crafting!

- RAAR News - March-June

RAAR NEWS

MARCH - JUNE EDITION

Jursammic Expanding

Since last year, Jursammic Park has nearly doubled in size and with twice as many locations to travel to, an upgrade to the Jursammic Park teleportation system was drastically needed. Under the guiding hands of Sam Co. owner, SammyMacman, crews began the delicate and extensive work needed to increase the teleportation capacity of the station earlier this year.

By the end of March, Sam Co. crews completed their work and the station was re-opened. The expanded location now features several floors of teleportation booths and will allow for future expansion when needed.

Sending In Reinforcements

In March, Imperial City Council met to discuss the need to expand the downtown core. After much debate, it was decided that the current plots of land located in the core needed to be increased in size. In order to accomplish this, construction crews would need to dig further into the dirt slopes of Holland Hills, a residential community located on the north side of the Royal Canal.

After the completion of a feasibility study, City Council approved the expansion, requiring large retaining walls to be placed along the exposed slopes of Holland Hills. Ground was broken on the first of April and lasted a week. Several new and larger land plots are now available for development.

Bridging The Gap

Corresponding with Imperial City's plan to increase downtown plot sizes, two new bridges were also approved for construction. The Holland Hills bridge which was demolished in March to accommodate the shorter span across the Royal Canal. After a complete re-design the bridge was rebuilt over the coarse of the April month.

A second bridge also began to be constructed in April and was completed in May of this year. The Skywalk bridge now allows a second route across the canal and access to the eastern shore of the Imperial City downtown.

The Big News

RAAR News announced in June that it had acquired a parcel of land in Imperial City and have begun to construct the RAAR News building. No word yet on when the project is expected to be completed.

Very Amusing

A secret project was unveiled on June 8th; the TIEland Amusement Park. Located on a peninsula south of Roundhead, the park has been under construction since May of this year. It has also been confirmed that the first ride at the amusement land will soon be opened. It is called the Rocky River Rampage.

Park officials have also told RAAR News that they are seeking more ride ideas from you, so be sure to submit them in the comments below, on the community page or like our special TIEland Pinterest board to be invited to pin your amusement park ideas to it.

One Stop Shop

With the continued expansion of the Southern Galactic Railroad, a new stop has been added along its path. Almost overnight, the town of Whistlestop has popped up allowing railroad workers quicker access to the worksite. Around the town, forests are being cleared to make way for farms and homesteads. Whistlestop aims to be a small farming community that will offer a stop to weary travellers needing a good night's rest and access to the Stoney Mountain Nation Park.

Port of Entry

Already highlighted in the June  edition of Spotlight, Grimshire has completed the final work on its new harbor. Ships are already docking at this newly developed port which allows the folks of Grimshire new found access to the trades of the world. Be sure to check out the Spotlight Feature.

-World of RAAR News!- June 06, 2014

Hello Crafty Miners! Welcome to another edition of the World of RAAR news. This week we have quite a few updates. So let's get to it!

TRANS-HUB SUBWAY READY

After a few weeks of intense construction, Tri-C Engineering confirms that the Trans-Hub Subway Station has been completed. Incorporated into the new design is a receiving system that will teleport the passenger into the station once the rail car has arrived.

Crews have now shifted their focus to completing the subway tunnels and to begin construction on satellite stations for the tunnels to connect to.

Time will still tell when the new technology will arrive to the city that will see the rest of the Trans-Hub Station shifted from it's current location across the street to this new location.

RAIL ALIGNMENT

The first subway connection has been made. The Imperial City subway system has now been connected to the Grand Central Station. This means that the city system now has access to the international rail system.

The new subway system has prompted city officials to approve a plan to upgrade Grand Central with the new launcher/receiver design as was instituted in the Trans-Hub Subway Station. It is expected that the new system can be implemented swiftly with little interruption to services.

IMPERIAL PLAZA LOBBY RENOVATION

After months of renovation, Imperial Plaza's lobby final takes shape. The concept has moved away from earth tones and has moved into a brighter look.

The renovation was sparked by Sam Co.'s desire for office space within the building and subsequent expansion. Imperial Plaza was first home to Mayor Talamer when he first settled the area. The building has seen multiple renovations over the coarse of the years. Once the hub of transportation, it has now become a hub of business.

Plans show that an elevator system and additional office space are yet to be incorporated into the tower, which houses Trans-Hub Inc. and Sam Co. Construction.

SAM CO. OFFICE RE-OPENS

Sam Co. has re-opened it's doors to its employees as a new project section has been completed in the expanded portion of the office. The new section is meant to facilitate workers in outstanding, current and future construction projects undertaken by the construction giant.

Promotion of travel to Jursammic Park has also been a focus. Showcasing several architectural wonders, Jursammic Park has widely been revered for its construction masterpieces most of which have been undertaken by Sam Co.

-SPOTLIGHT- Trans-Hub Test Station

Welcome back Crafty Miners! Today in follow up to the walk through video released earlier this week, we will take a look at the Trans-Hub Station.

The Trans-Hub was built to combine multiple modes of transportation under one roof. This way people could not only have a one stop shop to cruise around Imperial City but also have the ability to choose how they wanted to travel. Test Station 1 was built to see if all the features could be combined into one small structure.

After nearly three months of testing, the City Planning commissioner has reported a success in operation and is now in the process of finding a suitable location for the Trans-Hub Station and the implementation of teleport booths and subway stations. The current Trans-Hub Test Station will be physically moved to a new centralized location, though no time frame has been given for this move. Once the infrastructure is in place, citizens will have a teleportation, rail and canal system available to navigate all of Imperial City.

For a more in-depth look at the Trans-Hub Test Station, check out the video below.

Thanks again for all the support. Please continue to support us by watching our videos, leaving comments and ideas, and most importantly, continuing to have fun and being inspired. Until we meet again, Happy Crafting!
